Today, I made a trip to Main Ma Ye’ Tha Khin Ma Mountain, the place where I really wanted to go for a long time.
Main Ma Ye’ Tha-Khin-Ma Mountain is located in Taunggyi. Lately, the place has been having attention from all over the world because of its beautiful Main-ma-ye Mountain.
This becomes famous place among the Local Myanmar people because of legend. Ywangan and Pindaya are the nearest willages.

There is a legend about the mountain. Once a king falls in love with a Shan lady in Myanmar.
He forced this lady to marry him and become the queen, but she denied and run to the mountain “Main Ma Ye Tha Khin Ma Taung.
” The king found Lady on Mountain. She knew that there’s no way to escape from him so she commited suicide by jumping off the mountain cliff. Her lifeless body was never found.
How To Get Here
There are only two ways to get here from Yangon. First way to come here by car (632 km, 10 h) and the other way fly from Yangon Airport to Heho Airport (7-10 direkt fly a day, 45 mn.) by Myanmar National Airlines, Golden Myanmar Airlines or Air KBZ with a ticket price 80$-100$. From Heho Airport to Ywangan, you can go by car (60 km, 1 h 20 mn). On the way to there , Lovely scenery beside both side of road. Don’t miss chance to take photos.
Main Ma Ye’ Tha Khin Ma Mountain
When I reached there, I climbed the mountain , Oh I saw splendid scenery .This is a place appeared in my dream and it was really amazing! I highly recommend to checkout this place if you are around Kalaw or Pindaya
To get to the top, there are over 300 steps. The site itself was very old. Amazing to see beautiful scenery when we reached top of the mountain even it is very tiring to go up by stairs.
….but once you reach the top the view is very amazing and picturesque.

If you love photo shooting of beautiful landscape, you should go there and climp over 300 steps and then take photos from the top.
If it takes on sunset , it would be more prefect. I can say about Main Ma Ye’ Tha-Khin-Ma Mountain is a great place to visit.
