Phuket, The Island of Dream

Yazı Dizisi : Thailand Travel Guide

Thailand is one of those places that should be in your bucket list, and of course Phuket, The Island of Dream is the most beautiful place to visit in this country.

Phuket is a province with tropical forests which is in the Andaman Sea. You can go to Phuket in a domestic flight from Don Muang Airport in Bangkok.

The island has many villages in which there is a hectic nightlife and there are other villages which are more peaceful and quiet to spend time with family.

If you are a fan of water sports, you’ll love Phuket. Diving, snorkelling, sailing and windsurf are great options for having fun.

So according to what you are looking for, it is best to decide first where you want to stay.

Phuket offers a wide and colourful variety of views and some of the most unforgettable sunsets I’ve ever seen. In the south coast there are the most popular and crowded beaches and in the north there are the quietest of them.

Koh Phi Phi, Phang Nga Bay and Patong Beach are the most famous places you can visit.

Patong Beach is the center of nightlife, where there are lots of discos and nightclubs.

Kamala Beach
Rock Island
Banana Beach

To the north of Patong, far from the noise and crowd, it is Kamala Beach, a small, nice and quiet beach, from there you can take a boat to visit Rock Island and Banana Beach.

Transportation in Phuket is a bit more expensive than in the rest of Thailand. 800 Baht is a taxi from the airport to Kamala (U$1=30 Baht). To rent a motorbike you have to pay 240 baht and they drive on the left and although many people ride motorbikes. I find it quite dangerous in Phuket City because there’s a lot of traffic.

Phuket-Koh Phi Phi

If you want to spend time in a paradisiacal place, you must definitely go to Koh Phi Phi and stay for at least a couple of days.

Phuket-Bamboo Island, Monkey Beach Tour

There are many places where you can book Long Tail boats to have a tour to Bamboo Island, Monkey Beach and other famous places. The price for a three hour private tour is around 1500 baht. To enjoy the beach you must pay 400 Baht because this area is a national park.

If you want to avoid crowds of people, you should at least go around 6.00 a.m. Here you will see those incredible beaches with turquoise water.
